Jennifer T. Arrigo, Associate Ms. Arrigo is an associate in the Advocacy Department of Gowlings’ Ottawa Office. She practices in civil litigation with emphasis on negligence law and insurance law. In the area of insurance law, Ms. Arrigo regularly represents the interests of insurance companies in defending claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, fire losses, products liability claims, property-related claims, insurance coverage issues and related matters.
Ms. Arrigo was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. She received several awards upon being called to the Bar including the Law Society’s Second Prize for the student attaining the third highest grades across Ontario in the Bar Admission Course, the Harcourts Advocacy Award for the student attaining the highest combined grades in civil litigation, family law and criminal law, the Arthur Wentworth Roebuck Award for the student attaining the highest grade in family law, a share of the Vera L. Parsons Prize for the student attaining the highest grade in criminal law, and a share of the Joseph Sedgwick Q.C. Prize for Criminal Law for the student attaining the highest grade in criminal law.
Ms. Arrigo received her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2000, conferred with the summa cum laude distinction, and her undergraduate degree in Honours Criminology from the University of Ottawa in 1996, again conferred with the summa cum laude distinction.
Ms. Arrigo has conducted training sessions for caseworkers at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association. Ms. Arrigo is also a member of the Ottawa Multiple Birth Families Association.
