Saskatoon - A doctor convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting two female patients has waived his parole hearing. John Schneeberger was to appear before the National Parole Board on June 20, 2001.

Now the parole board will make its decision about whether Schneeberger should get day parole based on information in his file.

That information comes from Corrections Canada. In a release, the board indicates the review will take place in the near future.

Schneeberger and his former wife became embroiled in a custody battle last month. Lisa Dillman didn't want the couple's two young daughters to visit their father at the Bowden Institution.

Schneeberger eventually decided to postpone his visitation rights while he's in prison.
