The brazenly opportunistic "Wayne Cook" power and (or) cash grab has now further escalated with valued contacts across the country receiving a link to a new website bragging about an organization, a national "March On Ottawa" campaign and a new Yahoo group while failing to mention that none of them existed a mere days ago.

Hello everyone,
I have a new homepage (still needs some work) .
Check it out!
Best wishes, Wayne

Meanwhile, Cook has refused to confirm or comment upon - beyond calling them "slander" - allegations that he is the same person whose checkered political past includes not long ago running as both an "independent" and fringe Party candidate in provincial and federal elections and reportedly an earlier unsuccessful attempt to seek a Reform Party nomination once he failed to obtain a similar Liberal endorsement!
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/series/election/2000Federal/candidates-new/4221.html
http://home.ican.net/~bct/urnfeb97.htm
http://www.canoe.ca/CNEWSOntarioElectionRidings/35073.html
(note his 1999 provincial opponents included the very pro family justice Jim Brown)

As such a track record is most certainly indicative of a person with - to say the least - shifting personal principles, it's not surprising that Cook is already attempting to advance his latest campaign by resorting to back-stabbing personal attacks on long-time proven activists within supposedly private e-mails to other family justice advocates. (documentation available)

Nor is it surprising that he has also made public claims to have privately contacted and made reassuring commitments to the moderator of an established family justice forum when evidently this never occurred.

Further, he has openly engaged in seemingly mentally unstable behavior such as copying a message which roundly denounced - but tellingly didn't deny - allegations with regard to his, now presumed, questionable political past to Parliamentary Official Opposition Leader Stephen Harper!

More ominously, Cook has publicly alluded to having mysterious funding available for groups and individuals who join his purported "coalition" and appears - based upon his announced personal promotional itinerary - to also have quite an extensive budget for these activities as well.

Plus, he has somehow obtained and is presumptuously soliciting an extensive list of - unlike himself - well known activists of long standing along with valued allies of the family justice cause who have been painstakingly cultivated over many years of arduous struggle.

Additionally, we hardly need already scarce resources and energies arbitrarily being siphoned-off for a campaign of unknown motivation led by someone who plainly speaks for no one but himself - and possibly whomever is funding him - and has amply demonstrated that he has no belief in or respect for our central tenets of absolute public and private accountability.

Until such time as he stops dodging reasonable questions and wrongly attempting to portray himself as - what is quite obviously only a wholly self-proclaimed - leader and spokesman for our cause, Wayne Cook and his alleged organizing campaign should rightly be actively shunned and publicly disavowed by all responsible family justice advocates.

Fraternally and with appropriate concern,
G. M. MacLean, Mississauga

(With no like pretensions to any leading role with our cause, I couldn't care less what - if any - counter allegations are made and caution that any contemplated litigation would assuredly place the filer at the end of an already very long line comprising most of the family injustice industry.)

___________________

It rather fits right in with the unduly high self-opinion seemingly required to repeatedly stand as an electoral candidate in the face of crushing defeats. Plus, given past "flexible" political allegiances indicating that he obviously didn't run based upon principled convictions coupled with his now stated desire to unite the family justice cause with ones totally opposing it*, this pretty much leaves an overblown ego as his prime motivation.

*Reality check: the "family" Courts and their related gender bias are the prime cause of  "child poverty" and the outfits decrying same merely want an even richer deal for "poor single moms". The "health" groups want to further politicize our already over-burdened healthcare system by adding still more items from the sexist radical feminist wish list. And any "education" groups I know of are primarily concerned with institutionalizing more of the radical gay and feminist agendas within school curriculums and demanding high paying jobs for their fellow travelers to carry out this anti-family indoctrination of our children.

Accordingly, Wayne's campaign is beyond laughable and perhaps truly dangerous in it's - intentional or not - blatant opportunism and political stupidity/naivety and rightly should be barred from all family justice forums. Further, add in the claimed availability of funding for groups joining his "coalition" alluded to in one of his D_I_A posts and the personal travel, organizing, etc. budget he seems to have at his disposal and it all makes one wonder who or what might be the actual hidden source of his financial backing? - G.

A thought on costing. Do you have any contacts who organized buses for campaigning, rallies etc? They might have some idea of the costs, PR req logistics etc

Hi,

Thanks, I am worried about Sam. There are a few fathers like him. The pain is too fresh, and it will take years for him to recover, some never do.

We need to build a "Rainbow coaltion" by addiing child poverty groups, groups with education and health, as an issue. Grandparents, adoptees etc. all have concerns.

Stage One 10 months to organize the event June 4, 2005.

Stage Two June 4, 2005 Event Day

Statge Three Post June 4, 2005, Get Political (sell memberships, get our supporters to vote at nomination meetings, or even run some candidates, under any major party banner.

What a great way to meet a few thousand people, over the next year.

Tallk to you, gotta go!

Wayne,

1. Meeting with Larry Dunk went well. Some concern over lack of previous recruiting experience. I did not think to mention recruiting for fundraisers or political campaigning.

Next step is for Larry to arrange for me to meet with a Branch manager (or he gives me a name and phone number and I  phone him/her) to see what a typical day is all about.

2. Fathers Group meeting was very interesting. I imagine most fathers in the thick of things are as angry as Sam.

What pricing are we thinking about for the proposed budget. EG. Price of bus, driver, insurance gas...; cost to mail x letters; cost of media...

Incorp a non-prof 'assoc.'; membership fees;... seems to me the way to go...you can then get liability ins for org.

AKIN to Big brothers/Big sisters type org

Comment, Wayne Cook attends a small meeting and the only person with any credibility at that meeting was Sam Cino.

Wayne Cook wishes to suddenly appear on the father's rights scene and become the "leader" while defaming the only person at that meeting who had any credibility or track record.

For the record the Ottawa Men's Centre has known Sam Cino for many years and to allude that he has an anger problem is nothing short of an attempt to damage Sam's credibility for his own selfish reasons that don't seem to be genuinely related to the cause of bring about change or providing advocacy for fathers.

Wayne Cook has been booted from several internet forums and no doubt will resurface on others in the near future.

The march on Ottawa does little for fathers suffering the war on fathers by corrupt Judges.
