A WOMAN who called 911 to report trouble at her Scarborough home was found by police with severe head injuries yesterday after being attacked in her garage. Her husband was arrested at the scene and later charged with attempted murder.

"They're good people, they're really nice people," said a neighbour, who didn't want his name used.

"That's why I'm so shocked."

The victim, 53, was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital just after 7 p.m. and was listed in stable condition.

Police were called to the home on Baylawn Dr., just west of Midland Ave. by the victim. Shortly after, a second call came in from the same address from another person.

When police arrived, they found the victim in the home's garage with both a hammer and an axe nearby.

Guiseppe "Joe" Russo, 55, is charged.
