| Edward Oursien’s preliminary inquiry got underway today. He’s the 19-year old Timmins teen facing manslaughter and drug trafficking charges in connection with the deaths of two other teen boys back in October. Today’s proceedings just dealt with the manslaughter charges, however we can’t report on much as Justice Martin Lambert has ordered a publication ban. We can tell you evidence was called in by the Prosecution and several witnesses were interviewed. As well, Oursien elected to be tried by judge and jury. 17- year old Andrew Tessier and 19- year old Daniel Drouin died from apparent overdoses of the prescription medicine oxycontin or MS Contin. |
