Police released a photograph of Jeremy Raymond Pike in a bid to see if there are victims who may recognize him.

The accused had a bail hearing scheduled for today.

On July 13, the Durham Children’s Aid Society contacted police after receiving a report of sexual assault allegations against the accused. The alleged sexual assaults date back to 1998.

The accused was arrested on July 19 at his residence.

Investigators believe that the accused was a family friend and was babysitting the then 5-year-old male victim in Bowmanville when the alleged assault took place. During the investigation, a second young victim was identified. The second victim is also from Bowmanville and was under 8 at the time, police say.

The accused has worked as an activity co-ordinator for Big Brothers in London and most recently as a Grade 5 teacher at the Glen Street Public School in Oshawa.
