Rowe will also kick up her heels on the new series of Dancing with the Stars to raise money for the national depression initiative, beyondblue, according to the latest edition of New Idea magazine.
Rowe recently parted ways with the Nine Network, where she had presented the Today show before taking maternity leave in December last year prior to the birth of daughter Allegra in January.
The 37-year-old revealed how motherhood initially affected her mental health.
"I suffered post-natal depression, not for long, but I did have it," Rowe told New Idea.
"At first I didn't want to acknowledge it. I knew it wasn't right and that it was more then being sleep deprived. I pushed it away for a few days."
Rowe said she visited her obstetrician, who arranged for her to see a psychiatrist.
"I remember talking to her and sobbing," Rowe said.
The former Ten newsreader said acting quickly speeded her recovery and recommended all women in similar situations do the same thing.
The issue of New Idea featuring Rowe's story hits news stands today.
