An Ottawa woman has been charged with second-degree murder, months after she visited a hospital suffering from childbirth complications.

Angela Kuelh, 26, was to be in court Saturday after being arrested and charged Friday, Ottawa police said in a news release.

Kuelh visited a hospital on April 30, 2007, saying she had given birth to a stillborn baby, the release said.

Police investigators questioned her and, based on the details she provided, they intercepted a garbage truck and searched its contents.

They found the body of a newborn boy and "the recovered evidence suggested foul play," the release said.

Final autopsy results received by investigators on Sept. 14 "provided further evidence to substantiate the charge of murder," police said.
