Sudbury Police Const. Bert Lapalme told CBC News it's possible the woman may have taken the baby onto a city bus which passes right by the hospital.

"She was seen walking out of hospital. She was on foot,"he said. "The bus system travels right in front of the hospital itself, so therefore I believe there was a suspicion that [the woman] might have jumped on the bus," Mr. Lapalme said.
