AN Australian father was last night reunited with his sons, six months after they were allegedly kidnapped by their Swedish mother.
Police said Ann-Louise Valette had been arrested in central Sweden and was being held on suspicion of abducting Frank, 11, and his brother Andre, 9.
The children's father George Pesor said he was in a meeting with prosecutors and police and could not comment further.
An arrest warrant was issued for Valette last year after the boys, who had been living with their father in Victoria, failed to return from a custody visit.
Police spokesman Svante Melin said Valette and the children were yesterday coping well "under the circumstances".
"As we woke them up in the middle of the night and separated a mother from her children, I don't know if it was shock but there was a reaction," he said.
Mr Melin added that Valette did not resist arrest.
In January, it was reported Valette may have been receiving help from a Swedish group called The Cobra Association.
