Housing for all not a right, Court of Appeal rules in rejecting Charter
challenge
Ontario's Court of Appeal has quashed a landmark
Charter challenge on the right of homeless Canadians to affordable housing.
Ontario's Court of Appeal, in a 2-1 decision, has rejected a Charter
challenge that would making housing a right for all people. In her ruling for
the majority, Justice Janice Pardu said the houising request “takes the court
well beyond the limits of its institutional capacity.”
