More than 1,000 pages of information regarding sex assault charges against disgraced former radio star Jian Ghomeshi are in the hands of his lawyers, a court heard on Wednesday.
In a brief appearance at College Park courthouse, the case was put over until February 26.
No trial date has been set.
Mr. Ghomeshi, who is out on bail living with his mother, was not in court personally, instead sending his lawyer Danielle Robitaille to speak on his behalf.
Crown attorney Jennifer Armstrong told the court “the case is progressing”, as is disclosure that is being provided to the defense.
Ms. Robitaille said they have received more than 1,000 pages of disclosure so far.
“There are remaining items yet to be disclosed,” she said in court.
Mr. Ghomeshi stands accused by six women of seven sexual assaults dating back to 2002. He also faces a separate charge of trying to overcome resistance by choking a woman. Actress Lucy DeCoutere is the only complainant who has consented to being identified publicly.
None of the allegations have been proven in court. His lawyers say Mr. Ghomeshi intends to plead not guilty to all charges. Ms. Robitaille declined to make any additional comments as she left the courthouse, trailed by a crowd of reporters.

The Ghomeshi allegations are 1,000 pages of Hearsay, what is a decade or more older "She Said" . In Ontario a similar "she said" without evidence can and generally does result in criminal charges, a trial, and NO conviction. Then the lack of convictions is blamed upon the Judiciary for not finding them guilty.
In Ontario when police are provided with an incredible wealth of incontrovertible evidence, the charges are rarely laid, and if laid, the charges withdrawn when the Victim is Male and the Female the perpetrator.
Recently the Ottawa Police arrested a Female Dentistry student after her husband reported that she had attempted to strangle him with two hands to the throat in such a grip it left him scratch marks and bleeding around the neck which was observed by police officers upon arrival.
Van Der Zander first interviewed
the mother & fabricated a report that she denied choking him when
he never asked her the question. After telling her he was concerned she
might kill him with a knife next time, he released her without charges
without first interviewing the male victim and refused to photograph his
injuries.
Another officer later did after getting a Crown to screen it, charge her for death threats and assault, for 55 assaults in one day. The Extreme Feminist CAS of Ottawa had the equally extreme feminist Crown Attorney TARA DOBEC stay the charges.
This Female Denistry Student come strangler , then assaulted her new male partner with, you guessed it, a stranglehold to the neck with her thumbs intertwined around his neck she told him "My father was KGB, I know what I am doing". He reported the assault to the Ottawa Police and they did NOTHING.
She then found out about the report and threatened to make false allegations to have his kids taken from him. He reported that to the Ottawa Police and they did NOTHING.
Then the CAS Lawyer Tracey Engleking sought and obtained EX PARTE without notice or knowledge of the father, an order for custody of children to the Violent Mother who repeatedly assaulted the children.
The Ottawa Police turned deliberate blind eyes or failed to investigate an long string of obvious criminal offences, simply because the perpetrator was Female.
